Intro to Ayurveda Workshop


Karuna Diedericks is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, a graduate of the California College of Ayurveda (2007). Karuna uses Ayurveda, a complex and ancient tradition of natural medicine and healing methods, to offers valuable, time-tested solutions to these and many other health challenges. Her consultations usually give her clients another point of view on their condition and help them find holistic alternatives that target the root cause, not only the symptoms. Karuna has also practiced yoga since her teens. In order to use yoga as a healing modality, Karuna earned her 200- hour yoga teacher certification through The Yoga Institute of Houston in 2008, and together with Ayurveda, has helped her patients overcome their health challenges through yoga practice. Find out more at


Ayurveda is called the Mother of Healing because it is 5000 years old. It is the original medicine of India. It’s diet and lifestyle-based prescriptions heal body, mind and spirit to create holistic wellness. Karuna Diedericks will be explaining the three Ayurvedic bio-energies (dosha), namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha that prevail in each individual in a unique combination that creates different body-types. Each body-type has different needs with a unique path to healing.
